The Louisiana chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and Loyola University will host a “Spotlight” screening and panel discussion on Friday featuring award-winning investigative reporter Jason Berry and a representative from the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP).
The film focuses on the The Boston Globe’s “Spotlight” team and its investigation into systemic child sex abuse cases in the Boston area by Roman Catholic priests.
Berry, an author and film director, is known for his pioneering investigative work into the Catholic Church and its sexual abuse cases a decade before the Globe’s reporting.
A Louisiana representative of SNAP will also participate. SNAP is an independent network of survivors of priest abuse who work to raise awareness about the issue and hold the perpetrators and their enablers accountable.
